Governance
The Director oversees the properfunctioning of INTRIQ. More specifically, he or she is responsible for: a) overseeing the organization and general administration of INTRIQ; b) develops INTRIQ's scientific policy in consultation with the Scientific Director; c) prepare the budget of INTRIQ and submit it for approval to the Executive Committee, then present it to the General Assembly; d) prepare, with the assistance of the Executive Committee, the INTRIQ grant application as well as the mid-term evaluation and submit it for adoption to the Executive Committee; e) take responsibility for the execution of the decisions of the Executive Committee; f) prepare the annual report of INTRIQ's activities which it is submited for adoption to the Executive Committee and for evaluation to theInstitutional Council; g) manage the support staff of INTRIQ and h) chair the General Assembly and the Executive Committee.
The Scientific Director is responsible for developing, updating and monitoring INTRIQ's scientific policy. He assists the Director in the preparation of theINTRIQ grant application as well as the mid-term evaluation, specifically on the definition of the research axes and scientific program of INTRIQ.
The Executive Committee adopts the budget, any regulations concerning the internal management of INTRIQ, financial assistance resulting from calls for projects and exceptional funding requests. In addition, it assists the Directorin the preparation of the Institute's grant application and the mid-term evaluation and grants and revokes the status of regular members of INTRIQ.
The Institutional Council is made up of the directors or vice-deans of research from partner institutions. He advises management and members on the strategy and management of INTRIQ. It approves the budget and the annual report presented by the Director.
The Student Council ensures the interinstitutional student dynamic and is involved in the organization of activities, in particular the annual student conference, held by and for the students. In addition, it helps foster collaboration between INTRIQ researchers and disseminate research results through presentations or internships.
The Steering Committee is made up of international expert researchers as wellas members who can inform INTRIQ about Quebec's research priorities. The role of the committee is to advise the Directors on the major scientific directions to be taken for the years to come.
The Members' Assembly is made up of all regular members of INTRIQ. Contributors, partners, observers, representatives of research staff and students may be invited by the Director (without voting rights). Each of the regular members of the Assembly has one vote.
